Position: Technical Project Manager

Location: San Diego, CA

Overview:

As our Technical Project Manager, you'll have direct, daily access to company CEO and CTO , and be a critical driving force in the creation of new products and services. You’ll shape and work with a team that prioritizes the use of cutting-edge technology and techniques to create outstanding products and services. You’ll be overseeing day-to-day project management while keeping your eye on the long-term strategy and goals of the company. This includes working directly with project leads and developers (internal and external teams) influencing priorities, managing timelines, overseeing progress and reporting to the executive team. In this role, you may encounter sensitive or confidential materials.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Attend daily standups and project kickoffs, leading and motivating cross-functional project teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables. 

  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and stakeholder meetings, ensuring that action items and decisions are documented and followed up on. 

  • Continuously monitor and report on project progress, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively engage with team members from different departments to obtain necessary data and updates to ensure that projects are on track and aligned with business objectives. 

  • Create task tickets in GitHub, and prepare progress reports, status updates, and documentation to keep team members informed of project status, milestones, and key decisions.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to share ideas, feedback, and lessons learned, and by implementing best practices and process enhancements.

  • Proactively communicate blockers and other hindrances to an effective Software Development Life Cycle, allowing corrective action to occur immediately.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and adoption of best practices to enhance project delivery capabilities and outcomes.

Successful Candidates will:

  • Be fast learners and able to adapt quickly to new technologies, methodologies, and changing project requirements.

  • Have excellent prioritization and planning skills.

  • Have a thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Be able to see multiple perspectives from both the internal team and users.

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, be an attentive listener, be empathetic, and be able to communicate your ideas effectively and influence others positively.

  • Be able to act as a mediator and help teams with different backgrounds reach consensus and compromise on challenging issues.

  • Have a technical background, in addition to staying up-to-date with the latest web development trends..

Technical Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical project management and scrum experience

  • Good understanding of basic statistical concepts and research methodologies such as A/B testing 

  • Expert-level usage of Github at the Project Management level 

  • PMP and CSM certifications are a plus

  • Experience with our stack is a plus (PHP, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Next.js, MySQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, Cloudflare)
